Walk to Heinz Field

Ran a five mile out and back loop from Bloomfield to Highland Park. Sidewalks are still frozen. Snow falling. Generally slow going but good.

Score tickets for the Steeler playoff game for this afternoon. Front row, club section on the 25. Prime. Beautiful. Wonderous. The scoree of these ticks, Jonathan, mildly insists we walk to the the game.  From Bloomfield to Heinz Field is about five miles.  We walk there. Freeze through a marvelous game.  Then we walk back up the hill home. A slow, dream-like 15 mile day.

Late Night Run on Ice

Forecasters lie.  Call for 8 inches of snow.  Get half an inch then rain then ice.
On day 52 of a continuous running streak. Didn't want to break the streak so found myself running at 10:30 this evening over the frozen streets of Pittsburgh.  Stupid, no doubt, but was a fine run despite the time and the iced sidewalks.  Shortened my stride and kept shuffling along.

Ran past neighborhood bars with mobs of smokers outside.  Feared being identified by friends as a late late night jogging freak.  No cat calls though.  No "Run, Forrest, run..."

Made it home: no falls, no mockery.  I love running in the city.
